Who can participate?

Youth workers

Each training will be open to three youth workers from each participating organisation. Preference is given to leaders and managers, but it is important that a team member attends in addition to the leader. The selection of these participants will be the responsibility of the individual organisations. Also important is the motivation of the participants to learn and use new practices for the development of the organisation.

The communication language will be English, so at least a basic knowledge of this language will be required. The age of the participants should be 18+. And It is not necessary that the same participants attend all meeting sessions!

By applying to this course, participants commit themselves to actively participate in the whole process, including:

  • reading all the information carefully,

  • communicating timely with the organisers,

  • preparing adequately for the training course,

  • taking actively part in the full duration of the activities,

  • to participate in the evaluation process after the course,

  • to participate in sharing the results and outcomes of the training after the training is over.

How to arrive?

First of all you need to arrive on 22nd of May before 18:00. And we recommend two ways to arrive:

First: through Thessaloniki

  1. Take a flight to Thessaloniki.

  2. From Thessaloniki Airport take a bus to centre of Thessaloniki.

As you exit the airport you will see a sign for the bus stop. You have to take the bus number X1 to the main bus station in Thessaloniki (K.T.E.L = K.T.E.Λ). You have to get off on the last stop, the bus station has a large spherical roof and the journey takes around 45 minutes and the ride costs 1,80 euro. These local bas from the airport to KTEL departs every 30 minutes. You have to buy your ticket on the bus there are machines in which to buy them.

  1. Take a bus from Thessaloniki bus station to Serres.

When you arrive at the bus station K.T.E.L go into the large entrance all, with all the counters for buying tickets and go to the counter that says (SERRON = ΣΕΡΡΩΝ). The price of a ticket for Thessaloniki to Serres is 8,20 €.

Once you have bought your ticket go to the large all with the spherical roof, where all the buses leave from, the stop is to the right and at the very end, there will be a sign above that says ΣΕΡΡΕΣ - SERRES.

Don’t get confused Serres and Serron (ΣΕΡΡΕΣ and ΣΕΡΡΩΝ) are the same. Make sure you arrive a little early as the buses usually leave exactly on time.

The buses usually leave every 60 minutes until 21:00.

  • Try to find a way how to get here so your arrival time on 22nd of May is before 18:00. So your arrival time at Thessaloniki’s Airport should be early in the afternoon in order to avoid the risk to lose the last bus to Serres.

  • You can find Thessaloniki - Serres bus timetable here:

For departures from Thessaloniki to Serres in working days is 13:00, 15:00, 16:00, 18:00, 19:00, 20:00, 21:00. And during the weekend the last one is 19:00. Serres is the last stop, so you can’t miss it.

Second: through Sofia

  1. Take a flight to Sofia.

  2. From Sofia go by bus to Serres. Check the best routes here:
